With the holiday season coming our way, kick back, relax, and enjoy the classic holiday movies that have become a yearly tradition to watch.

Sophomore Alex Hogan said, “I love Christmas movies because they have such great morals and they’re fun to watch with family.” Here are the top five movies of the season that cannot be missed.

It’s a Wonderful Life, the 1940’s classic, is a must-see movie showing how wonderful life, love, and family really are, despite the obstacles and hard times that people must overcome.

A Charlie Brown Christmas from 1965 is yet another holiday classic movie where the Peanuts’ cartoon characters learn to truly understand the meaning of the holiday. Whether you’re 5 or 105, this movie is great for all ages.

Another tradition of the season is Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, a timeless film from 1964 that you can’t go through winter without seeing. Including elves, toys, an abdominal snowman, and of course, Santa, this is a Christmas classic.

Frosty the Snowman from 1969 is another heart-warming story that truly never gets old. All people can enjoy the story of Frosty’s journey to the North Pole with his magical hat that keeps him alive.

Last, but certainly not least, A Christmas Carol is the classic Christmas movie reminding people that the holidays are about family and friends, not gifts. Not only can you enjoy the original version from 1908, but there is now a Disney version of this classic movie out in theaters. This version includes Jim Carrey who plays several different characters including Ebenezar Scrooge as all ages and the three ghosts who haunt him.

Everyone knows the stories of these five classic movies, but they all seem to get better with each passing year. So keep up the holiday spirit by carrying on the tradition of watching these timeless films.
