Every June, many students face the symptoms that accompany the prospect of a stay-at-home summer:  nothing to do, nowhere to go, and no money to spend. This summer, beat the boredom blues with these easy and unique ideas:

-Great Outdoors: Go camping in your own backyard! Set up a tent, roll out a few sleeping bags, and blast your favorite tunes. Invite your closest friends for a unique sleepover experience under the stars. Don’t forget to bring bug spray, lanterns, a telescope, and your favorite late night munchies!

-Hit the Road: Florida offers an abundance of tourist attractions all over the state, especially in the South. With our sunny beaches, science and art museums, theme parks, and music venues, all you need to do is grab a handful of tourist pamphlets and see what your fellow locals have to offer.

-Photo Hunt: Gather a group of eager friends and divide up into groups of four or five. Give each group a list of quirky and random photos they have to snap within the city, beach, mall, or any other typical hangout. Give each group a time limit and meet up after this unusual scavenger hunt to see who snapped the most pictures. You and your friends will look at common areas in a new and creative way.

-Play Local Tourist: Invite your closest friends to pack a suitcase and join you for a spontaneous, unplanned road trip! Grab a few days worth of summer clothes, some cash, and a map of the state along with tons of tourist brochures to see where the highway will take you. Stop by tourist traps and other places you’ve always heard about but have never visited as a local; you may be pleasantly surprised with what you find when you explore your own state.

-Play and Stay: Turn a beach day into a mini vacation! Check in to a local hotel on the beach, spend the night, and the entire next day swimming and sun-bathing with a few close friends.
